Inspiration

My inspiration for my animation is films such as 'Wallace and Gromit' .From looking at youtube clips this film gave me the idea for using clay animation characters as i feel the texture of this will make it easy to move the characters for each photo to create a smooth transition. The song choice that i decided on came from when i was looking on youtube it came up with the 'Halem shake' i feel this song will be extremely appropriate for my animation because this song has had millions of views worldwide so will easily attract the audiences attention for the positive reasons.

This is a clip which inspired me for my animation. It is a short clip from Wallace and Gromit:

This is my chosen song choice which inspired me for my animation video.

The way in which my characters will be made is using plastacine. I feel this will be most appropriate for my animation as it is easy to use so the characters will be easier to make and will move more smoothly.

Frame per second

The frame rate per second i have decided on is 24 per second. The animation that inspired me which was Wallace and Gromit also used this for their short films which ran smoothly and created an excellent film. The reason why i feel this is a appropriate number for my advert is because it can easily be divided as it is an even number. So this is the reason i have chosen to use 24 frames per second.

Stop frame animation

I feel that my animation had a successful outcome, the props, development of the makings of the characters and the setting that I created were very rewarding and matched my storyboard. There were a few changes that I made to my advert this was because during the creation of it I thought of different things that would fit better with my animation and make it go a lot smoother. One thing that made a impact to my animation that I changed were adding a another prop to my animation which was a police helicopter the reason for this was to make my animation longer and to the minimum time length for the animation which was a minute. This was very successful as this worked really well for my animation and created a dramatic type of ending.

The way in which I created my setting was mainly using card. The way I designed and produced my dance floor for the characters to dance on was using a red piece of A3 and a blue piece of A3 card and collaged them together which created a 3d affect which was an overall great outcome. Then for my background I used a plain piece of black A3 card, which also contributed to make a great outcome. Then as my scene was set in a disco I used a Christmas tree decoration as my disco ball, which worked very well .For my lighting I was trying to use my imagination to suit my animation. I shined a torch through a cardboard tube, which reflected on my disco ball, and the black card to make a disco effect fashioned well. Then for my morphs I used plasticine as I felt this material would build them well and be able to move the characters bodies easily, which would make the creation of my animation flow nicely.

The genre for my animation is entertainment/dramatic as the entertainment side to it is that my song choice is popular worldwide which has over 98 million views on YouTube so I thought this song would be suitable for my animation as this shows that people enjoy this song and enjoy listening to it so might like it in my animation. The dramatic side to my animation is using a police helicopter so this creates drama during an advert because its part of the emergency services so the audience will think there’s a type of an emergency during my animation. The camera shots that I used during my animation were very restricted I used long shots and median shots I felt these were very suitable for my animation as I wanted to show my setting during the whole advert due to the lighting and props that were used and just using these 2 shots worked very well and if I were to improve my animation I would not change these as these made my animation very successful.
